Lessons continue despite rumours of year 6 children doing nothing after SATs.

Our book focus will be Goodnight Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian where children will learn about kindness, friendship, resilience, and the effects of war and abuse. Through Willie’s experiences during World War II, readers learn how care and support can help people grow in confidence and recover from difficult experiences. The story also helps children develop empathy and a better understanding of history and relationships. We will be using this book and the subject of WW2 for our KS2 SATs writing assessments.

Science

In Science we will be looking at genetics including evolution and inheritance. The children often find this a very fascinating topic.

Art

We will be sketching stick figures and figures in motion.

Design and Technology

We will be creating our own recipes for bread and cooking and testing them in school.

Computing

We will be using 3D imaging Tinkercad and Microbits to code.

RE

RE lessons fit nicely with our Science unit. We will be investigating the question Creation and science: conflicting or complementary?

PE

For our final half term we will be doing Rounders and Volleyball.

Believe, achieve and shine brighter together.
