🌟 Oldswinford Sporting Stars 🌟

Instructions for how to be included on our sporting webpage:

1.Take part in any sporting competition or event outside of school.
2. Make sure you get some photos! These can be of you taking part during an event, at the start or end of competition or holding up any trophies or medals etc.
3. Send in the photos to arusson@oldswinford.dudley.sch.uk along with a short description of the event and your achievements ready to be published (remember to add the child's name) *by sending your child's photo, you are giving consent for the image to be posted on this webpage.

Herb went skiing this half term and he got a bronze star award - which is an amazing achievement, especially for his age. Herb managed to ski all the black runs in the resort.

I am beyond impressed Herb! How fantastic to see a different sport! Great job!

Jessica took part in a gymnastics competition and won bronze medals in Beam, Bar and Floor. This is a brilliant achievement and shows real commitment to the sport. A huge well done, Jessica!

Harry achieved his 50 meter badge at his swimming lesson at the start of the summer holidays.

What a fantastic achievement! I hope you have been able to put your skills to use over the summer, Harry, and have had lots of fun in the water.

Update:

On the 15th and 16th July 2023 Eliseo competed at the City of Bristol Level 3 Long Course Swim Festival.

He entered 4 events where he recorded 4 personal best times for 50m Butterfly, 50m Breaststroke, 50m and 100m Freestyle. Winning the gold medal for each event in the 9 year age group! 🥇 🥇 🥇 🥇

He is now ranked 1st in the county and 2nd in the region for these events and proudly sits in the top 20 Nationally for 50m Butterfly.

Eliseo’s commitment, determination and enthusiasm achieved results that surprised everyone - family, coaches and himself! An incredible way to finish the swim season 🏊‍♂️

After 6 years of training in Kick boxing Finlay has achieved his 1st degree black belt in kick boxing. Finlay has shown strength, determination and skill. To make it special his dad did it with him and also got his 1st degree black belt. 
Wow Finlay! What an amazing achievement! We are very proud of you! 

Jessica took part in a mini dance show, she had 3 dances to remember, ballet, tap and jazz. Jessica has been dancing since she was 2 years old.

Wow! I’m sure your dance show was phenomenal, Jessica! 

Eliseo entered ‘Storm Force 2022’ in Wolverhampton this weekend and won the gold medal in the 10/11 years boys category, for the 50 metres Butterfly, even though he is just 9 years old.

His recorded time 00:46.21 was almost 4 seconds faster than the 2023 county consideration qualifying time of 00:50.00 secs

Eliseo now looks forward to his first chance to compete at county level, in the very near future… watch this space!

Wow Eliseo! What an amazing achievement! We are all extremely proud of you & wish you luck competing at County level.

Bobbie will be playing in a regional tennis competition in Gloucester on Sunday after winning the Dudley area competition. 

What a great achievement Bobbie! We wish you the best of luck for Sunday!

Ella attends synchronised swimming. She practises for around 5hrs a week and is currently practising in preparation for a competition in November. 

What a unique sport! It is fantastic to hear of your dedication. Good luck in your competition Ella!

Krish has been practicing Kung Fu since the age of 2.5 and cleared all the levels of Kung Fu Cubs (White belt to black belt) in 2.5 years at Martial Arts Concepts in Lye. Currently, he is doing Junior Level Advanced training and has an orange belt. He has his grading for Red Belt this month. Martial Arts has helped him improve his self confidence, developed assertiveness and strengthened his body and mind.
