Events Successes
Movie Night - February 2020
Friday night was yet another successful and hugely enjoyable PTA event. Children arrived in their onesies, with blankets and pillows ready to get comfy and cosy; and enjoy a choice of two films: The Descendants 3 or Angry Birds 2. Many thanks to our fabulous PTA and all volunteers who helped on the night. The total funds raised will announced shortly but are thought to be a fantastic £600-£700!
Christmas Fayre - December 2019
Friday evening at the Christmas Fayre was FABULOUS!!
The atmosphere was incredible as we were overwhelmed with the volume of visitors who all came out in support of this increasingly popular PTA event. The choir sang beautifully; Santa's grotto was magical; people were falling over themselves to win at the many tombolas; mulled wine, samosas, hot dogs and pulled pork baps were selling like hot cakes.....and the cake stall rivalled the Great British Bake off.
The community feeling generated was one of warmth, generosity and collaboration. I can't thank the PTA, staff and children enough for all their hard work in creating such a successful evening, as well as all the families who turned out in support. The total funds raised is yet to be finalised but the atmosphere and sense of community was priceless.
Thank you again to each and every one of you who contributed.
Autumn Ball - November 2019
School Disco - October 2019
On Friday night we had our annual school discos which were a fantastic success, as always. KS1 were kept well entertained and played all the usual classic party games, whilst KS2 danced the night away with their glow sticks and enjoyed plenty of sweet treats. The DJs kept everyone dancing with classics such as We Will Rock You and the YMCA as well as playing plenty of more modern favourites. I know Mrs Game and Mrs Wooldridge even joined in for a boogie too!
A huge thanks to our wonderful PTA for organising the event and to all of the volunteers who helped out during the evening.
Update: An amazing £736.08 was raised. A huge thank you to Mrs Gadd and Mrs Hopkins for organising another fantastic event!
Summer Fayre - June 2019
Can we send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Summer Fayre on Saturday...it was a hot one!
We'll be sending an update as soon as possible on the money raised and the exciting things we'll be spending it on...but for now can we thank you all so much for your support in attending and making the event such a success.
Most importantly can we thank the hard working volunteers and teachers who gave up so much time in organising, setting up gazebos, lugging boxes, manning stands, serving food and ice creams in that heat and staying behind to help clearing up afterwards..this event truly wouldn't have happened without you...and we and the school are incredibly grateful.
A special mention to Mrs Bond and the Year 6 team (and their parents!) who organised all of the games on Saturday and provided much of the fun.
As always some wonderful local businesses supported us with fabulous raffle prizes...those that were not claimed.. we have them safe and will be in touch with your prize soon.
Once again thank you all so much and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Update: A wonderful £3,000 was raised during this event! Thank you!
School Disco - May 2019
Thank you to the Andrea, Alison and all other PTA volunteers for organising 2 brilliant discos on Friday night. Both KS1 and KS2 were kept well entertained and danced the night away to a range of favourites and some more questionable 'tunes' played by the DJs. It was lovely to see the younger children dancing along to some old classics such as the Conga, whilst the older children enjoyed some chart hits as well as singing their hearts out to songs from The Greatest Showman soundtrack.
Thanks again to all of the volunteers who helped out during the evening - it was a brilliantly organised event, enjoyed by all.
Update: A brilliant £600 was raised! Thank you!

Movie Night - February 2019
Thank you to the PTA for organising Movie Night on Friday night. Both halls of children were kept well entertained with a choice of either E.T. or Peter Rabbit. It was lovely to see children getting cosy in their pyjamas, slippers, blankets and pillows whilst munching on their goodie bags of treats.
Thanks again to all of the volunteers who helped out during the evening - as usual, it was a brilliantly organised event, enjoyed by all.
The money raised has yet to be totalled but whatever the amount it will be very welcome and go towards enhancing the learning of all of the children at OCEPS.

Christmas Fayre - December 2018
Friday evening at the Christmas Fayre was A-MA-ZING!!
Hand made gingerbread biscuits sold out in minutes at the Fair Trade stall; Buddy received a Christmas dinosaur from Santa and there were fun and games at every turn. Buddy baubles are still on sale in school, so if you missed out and would like to purchase one, please pop into the office- they are £2 each.
I am delighted to announce that St. George's house were the winners of the 'best dressed' house stall, with PTA judges also commenting on how engaged the children were. In fact, all four house stalls were a roaring success. It was a great idea and potentially the start of a new tradition.
I feel like it was our best one ever!
Update: An amazing £2,370 was raised! Thank you to everyone involved.
Christmas Cards - December 2018
Thank you to the PTA for planning such a well organised event. Parents were able to purchase Christmas cards, tea towels and mugs with pictures of their child's festive drawings on. Such lovely Christmas presents for family and friends.
Update: A wonderful £566.82 was raised. Special thank you to Mrs Howell for all your hard work.
Peaky Blinders Autumn Ball - November 2018
Thank you to the PTA for yet again organising a fantastic Autumn Ball. It was a brilliant night attended by over 160 parents and friends and family from the local community. Everyone really embraced this year's peaky blinders theme with some fantastic outfits. The committee put in a huge amount of effort to make the event a success. The venue looked incredible and there was a great array of entertainment on the night including a band, casino and actors.
Update: A staggering £2,358.40 was raised. Thank you to everyone involved.
School Welly Disco - November 2018
Thank you to the PTA for organising 2 brilliant discos on Friday night. I know 'Baby Shark' was belted out in both halls too - I think it's quickly becoming a firm favourite for children of any age!
Thanks again to all of the volunteers who helped out during the evening - it was a brilliantly organised event, enjoyed by all.
Update: An amazing £282.54 was raised! Thank you to everyone involved.
Summer Fayre 2018
What a glorious success this year's fayre was! The sun shone as the prosecco flowed and the sausages sizzled! From Punch & Judy to bouncy castles, penalty shoot outs and games galore, it certainly was a fun-filled extravaganza.
Huge thanks go out to the PTA for all of their hard work, with a special mention to Nat, Sarah M, David, Sarah D, Jo, Emma and Hannah for leading the project. It was no mean feat and took many, many hours to plan and prepare but we can all agree, it was brilliantly organised and ran like clockwork. As Mr Punch would say, "That's the way to do it!" There was also a great deal of support in the form of parent, staff and children volunteers as well as all the families who turned out to partake in the fun.
We have yet to tot up the takings but whatever the amount, it will be gratefully received and make an impact on the experiences and enrichment of the children's learning, so thank you!
Several of the raffle prizes were claimed on the day and we have the details of the winners who were not there so will be contacting them very shortly.
Thank you once again to the whole school community for all your support. It is very much appreciated.
Update: A staggering £3,593 has been raised! Thank you to all involved.
