This half-term, we will be learning about the Ancient Greeks and what effect they still have on our lives today. We will explore the myths and gods, the Olympics, their art and daily life. The children will learn to draw Greek patterns and make their own Greek pot out of clay. We will use this to inspire our writing in English. Our class reading book will be Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
In Science, we will be learning about electrical circuits. This will include lots of practical activities and understanding how circuits work. We will use bulbs, LEDs, motors, switches and buzzers.
In computing we will be looking at esafety and ways of using computers and social media responsibly. We will also be using Scratch to code programmes to change and make games.
In art we will look at sketching patterns and printing them using lino tiles. We will also create Greek pots from clay and use some of our patterns to decorate them.
PE and Forest School
PE will be on Tuesdays for both classes. This half term we will focus on netball.
Forest School will start for 6C on Wednesday 17th September and 6F on Thursday 18th September.
Our active school uniform is suitable for Forest School, but wellies and waterproofs are recommended. If a child decides to wear different clothing for Forest School, they must bring active school uniform to get changed into.
