PTA

ABOUT YOUR PTA

 

We have a fantastic Parent Teacher Association - even if we do say so ourselves!We organise a whole host of events every year for pupils, families and the wider community for both socialising and fundraising purposes.

 

We've raised some pretty impressive amounts of money over the last few years. These have supported a wide range of new initiatives including the Fielders Out of School Club building, IT investment, theatre and educational trips as well as year group learning aid purchases.

All Oldswinford C of E Primary School parents and members of staff are automatically members of the PTA. Your views and involvement are welcome no matter how much or how little time you might have to give. Even if you think there is nothing at all you could offer the group, by keeping abreast of what's going on, you may be surprised to find you can get involved on a small or large scale.

As a registered charity, parents volunteer to act as trustees and treasurer to oversee PTA affairs and report on an annual basis to The Charity Commission. We welcome any parents interested in taking on such roles to ensure that our PTA continues in the future.

OLDSWINFORD C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL PTA TERMS OF REFERENCE

 

The purpose of the PTA is to help make our children's time at Oldswinford C of E Primary even more enjoyable. Specifically we provide a free and flexible meeting system which enables parents to consult on, discuss and represent the views of parents in areas of school development which are of interest to the wider parent body and to organise fundraising and social events.

 

The following areas however fall outside the remit of the PTA:

 

• issues relating to confidentiality

• school management

• curriculum or timetabling

• staff selection and appointment

• school hours or holidays

• budget

• specific circumstances of individuals.

The committee usually meets once a term and otherwise as required.

Expense claims: Anyone fundraising and making purchases on behalf of the PTA must complete an expense form and return to the school office or direct to Sarah May, David May, or Nat Hannam so cheques can then be written and an audit trail maintained. Without completed forms and receipts as proof of purchase re-inbursements will not be made.

Also, float requests must be submitted about 2 weeks in advance of an event so as to give us time to get the money together. Thank you.
