Raising funds for Birmingham Women's Hospital
During World Book Day, Maisie-Grace organised a fundraising event in support of Birmingham Women's Hospital. She raised an amazing £352.30.
Here is Maisie-Grace's story in her own words:
On the 1st July 2021, my mommy gave birth to twins in Birmingham Women's Hospital. They were born 3 months premature. As a result of this, they had health issues. First of all, Louie (the smallest one) weighed 1 pound when born. Stanley weighed 2 pounds 8 ounces. Secondly, Louie had chronic lung disease which made it extremely difficult for him to breathe. Finally, both the twins were low on oxygen, needing extra oxygen to breathe. Unfortunately, after living for 104 days, Louie passed away on 12th October.
I asked to run the fundraiser on World Book Day so that maybe, in the future, they may be able to save other babies in Louie's situation using new equipment which they bought using the money I raised.
We are very proud of you Maisie-Grace. You are such an inspiration!
