Sports Clubs at Oldswinford

23/24

 

Below are the current range of clubs and activities that we offer.

 

Autumn 1 -

We have a total of 9 clubs running this half term! Be sure to sign up for one and have lots of fun!

 

Multi-skills - Years 1 & 2. Children take part in a variety of games and activities to develop a range of skills.

 

Fun Games - Years 1 & 2. Children develop a range of skills as well as communicating and working together as part of a team.

 

Basketball - Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. A great opportunity to try a new sport and develop new skills as well as working as part of a team and communicating with one another.

 

Football - Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. This has always been a very popular club, with the older year groups competing against other schools in competitions.

 

Bench-ball - Year 3 & 4. A fun way to develop children’s ball skills as well as working as part of a team and communicating.

 

Rugby - Year 4. In Year they will have a rugby coach working closely with them each week for their P.E. lesson and this will also transfer over into an afterschool club to develop techniques and take part in games.

Autumn 2 -

We have a total of 5 clubs running this half term! Be sure to sign up for one and have lots of fun!

 

Dodgeball - Years 3 & 4. This is a firm favourite amongst the children!

 

Dance - Years 1, 2 & 3. Returning this year due to its huge popularity last year.

 

Running - Years 5 & 6. An opportunity to take part in a large scale cross-country event in the spring term.

 

Football - Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. This has always been a very popular club, with the older year groups competing against other schools in competitions.

 

Gymnastics - Years 1, 2 & 3. A popular session with the younger children. This is delivered by an external agency and a professional GB gymnastics coach.

 

Spring 1 -

We have a total of 8 clubs running this half term! Be sure to sign up for one and have lots of fun!

 

Multi-sports - Years 3 & 4. Children take part in a variety of games and activities to develop a range of skills.

 

Ball Games - Years 1 & 2. Children develop a range of skills as well as communicating and working together as part of a team.

 

Football - Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. This has always been a very popular club, with the older year groups competing against other schools in competitions.

 

Dance - Years 1 & 2 & Years 3 & 4. Opening the offer to higher year groups, due to popularity.

 

Running - Years 5 & 6. An opportunity to take part in a large scale cross-country event in the spring term.

 

Tri-golf - Years 3 & 4 & Years 5 & 6. An opportunity to take part in a different sport that is not taught in our curriculum.

Spring 2 -

We have a total of 8 clubs running this half term! Be sure to sign up for one and have lots of fun!

 

Multi-sports - Years 1, 2 & 3. Children take part in a variety of games and activities to develop a range of skills.

 

Multi-sports - Years 4, 5 & 6. Children take part in a variety of games and activities to develop a range of skills, building on prior knowledge. Children will also have the opportunity to develop their own games.

 

Basketball - Years 4, 5 & 6. A great opportunity to try a new sport and develop new skills as well as working as part of a team and communicating with one another.

 

Football - Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6. This has always been a very popular club, with the older year groups competing against other schools in competitions.

 

Dance - Years 1, 2 & 3. A favourite amongst the younger year groups, with each half term having a different focus.

 

Netball - Years 3 & 4 & Years 5 & 6. As requested by the children and parents. This may open up the opportunity in the summer term for a netball tournament.

 

Target games - Years 1, 2 & 3. An opportunity to take part in a different target based games and activities.
