Welcome to Year 6
Autumn term 2020
Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday but we may be going outside to make the most of our learning environment so please ensure you have PE kit available in school every day.
Our topic this half term is Paris. We will be using this topic and our class reader of Rooftoppers to produce some exciting writing in our English lessons.
We will be exploring the city of Paris in many of our subjects including art and Geography.
In Science we will be learning about light and how the human eye works.
Keep a regular eye on our Class Dojo page for regular updates about our work.
In year 6, we encourage all pupils to undertake weekly homework tasks to develop their learning and prepare them for secondary school.
Topic homework- we like to set one task each half term which allows the pupils to do some research and use their creativity to present their work in their individual style. This could include a Powerpoint, poster, Lego model, animation, picture/ painting, 3D model, wordsearch, quiz, song. (Projects can be brought into school or photographed and shared with us on Dojo.)
For this half term's creative task we would like the children to find out about Paris.
Pupils will be given individual log in information so they can access the following sites from home on computers, tablets or phones. Many have a free App for easy access.
These can be used at any time but we will also set specific tasks that need to be completed at certain times.
Spelling Shed https://www.edshed.com/en-gb/login
Times Table Rockstars https://ttrockstars.com/
We will also put homework (spelling) onto Class dojo using pupil portfolios, please ensure your child can access this and submit any work completed.
